A day of pampering at a spa is a commonplace occurrence for today's modern bride. Not only does it provide a time for wedding essential beauty treatments like facials, manicures, and pedicures to take place, it also offers the bride a chance to de-stress and unwind before her big day.

Today many grooms are jumping on the spa bandwagon hoping for a little pampering themselves.

Treatments widely used by grooms include manicures and the much needed and desired pre-wedding massage. Many spas include a full facial complete with shave. Just as with a woman's facial though, aestheticians recommend that facials be performed at least a week to ten days before the big day as they can often bring out the skin's impurities causing breakouts.

Men are less likely than their brides to pay a visit to the spa in the company of their attendants and will often head out on their own for their day of pampering. Many are opting to attend with their bride-to-be as a joint pre-wedding time of relaxation. A new niche that spas are working diligently to meet.

Most couples pre-wedding spa packages will also include a light lunch, some wine or champagne, and a luscious sweet treat, all while allowing the bridal couple to enjoy full-on pampering side by side. If time allows, the bridal couple may even want to make a weekend of it and plan an escape that will fortify them for the madness that will ensue during the wedding.
