Well it all started back in April of 2008. I and my Mom were sitting down watching television. We struck up a conversation about what we could be doing to occupy our time while trying to build a viable business, she had recently retired and I was between jobs. We had both saw an advertisement for a Program that would teach us how to use E-Bay to make some extra income. We decided to order the Program to see what it had to offer. Sometimes it is easier to be taught by someone rather than to try to learn on your own. You can avoid a lot of pitfalls.
Needless to say, we placed the order. In the meantime, I was reading and learning how to use E-Bay using the free tutorials that you can find on the site. There was a lot of information to be absorbed. All I really did was follow the directions. The tutorials taught me how to open an account with E-Bay, how to open an account with Pay Pal, how to open a Store, Bev and Eds Treasures, and how to sell items at the E-Bay auctions. All of these things were fairly simple to accomplish. They also do a good job of teaching you about how the E-Bay program works, and how to understand all of the information contained within the program.
We started our Adventure by selling things we had around the house and in the garage, that we were not using, or that had been stored for quite some time. The only way to get experience is by doing. We received the Program we ordered in May 2008. The program contained a lot of the same information I had learned, but it also contained an abundance of new information. One point it stressed was to obtain your own Website, www.mysteelcookware.com, to further grow your business interests. The Program vowed to help you move forward by providing step by step help through the whole process. They provide help on the internet, over the phone, and through written works.
After we purchased the full package, no it was not free, we proceeded forward with their guidance. We got a business license, and we acquired a resell number. The next step was to take all the classes they offered on their teaching website. All of the classes were very informative. We had to decide on what we were going to sell, we fell upon Cookware. We went to Go Daddy and got a Domain Name for 2 years. We found a company to dropship their products for us. After that we started building our website, www.mysteelcookware.com. This took a little time, but they helped me through the whole thing. I started advertising in the classifieds and putting our website in the list of free directories that was provided for us. Both of these actions took, and take up a lot of time, but it is worth the effort, you learn a lot about advertising by doing this. We only did the things that were free, but you can pay for sponsored listings. We also listed ourselves with the top search engines.
Even though, to date, we are still waiting for sales to pick up, we do not regret making the decision to push forward with our dreams, now we are at the next step, writing and publishing an article. I did not think I would have anything to say, but I was wrong. I have found that the only way to succeed is to keep pushing forward even when things look like they are not working the way you planned. Don’t ever think you cannot do something, because you can do anything that you put your mind to. We are still selling things in our E-Bay store, Bev and Eds Treasures, and we are still trying to find the best way to advertise our website, www.mysteelcookware.com. The trick is to maintain a positive attitude, and stick with it. It may take a couple of years to move things forward, but the reality is, the years are going to roll by whether you do anything to better your future or not. Any investment you make in yourself is worth the cost. Keep on pushing. Don’t think that sometimes you won’t get frustrated, because you will. Anytime you move into an area that is unfamiliar, you will come across snags. Just remember that each situation has its own rewards. Do not ever let things get the best of you. You can do it.
