Successful Tips For Postcard Content
A well thought out campaign presents a clear idea of the message you want to send out to you audience. Ask yourself these questions.
1. What do you want to achieve?
2. Who is your audience? The better targeted, the easier it will be to talk directly to your audience.
3. How often are you going to send the postcards. Frequency is better then reach so you can send out more times to the same audience.
You have a small amount of space on a postcard to convey your offer and then talk about the advantages you have over your competitors. Consumers will read your postcard because it is a quick read of its headline, content, and graphics.
There are two working sides to your postcard. The front of your postcard has your headline that speaks directly to your target audience complimented by an attention grabbing graphic or picture. An option also would be to put, at least, your website address o the front.
The back side may be the only side seen (most mail carriers put the postcards into a mail slot with the address side up). Make sure that you continue with color on this side along with your content. Since the back side of the card could be your opportunity to make a first impression, your content/message needs to talk directly to the issue your headline is revealing.
Make your message easy and quick to read by using bullet points.
What the issue is and outline the advantages you offer in comparison to your competition to help them with it.
Your audience wants to know how your services and products benefit them.
Provide all types of contact information.
Make an offer that is seen as valuable in your customer's eyes.
Create a sense of urgency by having an expiration date on your offer.
Give a strong call to action so your audience knows what you want them to do next.
Put your photo on the postcard to offer a personal invitation to work with you.
All of this content will create a quick read full of information your audience is interested in. Use an oversized postcard, not to put more information on, but to help create 'white space' and the option to bold and increase text size of important information.
Don't forget the quality of the postcard is a reflection of your business. Plan the size and type of postcard to be used and make sure it reflects well on you. Remember, first impressions are lasting impressions.
