In order to build a successful internet business there are a few steps that you need to take. Its not as simple as posting items to sell and let that be that. You need to actually put your business out there with certain techniques to properly market your products.
1. BE SEEN- If you have spent the time to have website designed, there is no reason why it should not be seen by your customers. An easy way to keep relevant in the public eye is to keep a blog or forum and update it regularly, at minimum 3 to 5 times a week. Target local South Jersey blogs and community forums.
2. CREDIBILITY- Before you can start selling your products or services you need to gain your customers attention. Write a few articles and show them that you are an expert in your field. Encourage potential clients to comment back on your articles so that you can respond to them personally. Submit your articles to well-established article directories such as warriorforumarticles.com, or articledashboarddirectory.com. The articles will also boost your visibility once they start to show up on various blogs, websites, e-zines etc.
3. GRAB THOSE OPT-INS!- Acquiring your customers information (name, email, home address) is priceless. It gives you a way to keep in contact with people that visit your site. The easiest way to achieve this is to put an opt-in box right on your site with some sore of incentive, such as "join the free newsletter", or "receive a percentage off". Once the opt-in box is ready you can also attack the social networking field. You can chat with people and direct them to your site, where they will have the opportunity to opt-in!
4. TRUST- Most often your potential customers will purchase their services/products from someone they trust, like or know. Building trust is not as hard as it seems. A great way to do so is to put a picture and voice to the name. People feel more comfortable when they can hear and see you. Also offer something free when joining the mailing list. Like in "grab those opt-ins" offer something like a percentage off, or a free item that will be beneficial to the customer.
5. RESIDUAL INCOME - Meaning you create something once and then sell it over and over again automatically. Information products and services will be an excellent source of residual income. Make sure that you follow these steps: be seen, create trust and credibility, and capture your customers information to be sure that you continue to make a profit.
