A point of view on the disturbing Prop 8 law, which points to discrimination of same sex marriages. It’s unethical to discriminate against the human race because of color, sex, or religion, or sexual preference. Everyone is a human being.

Everyone, heterosexual or homosexual falls in-between, some lean towards one end of the scale that are not gay, people fall in between, where they make peace and go with a male or female, and there’s the other end of the scale, where they know who they are.

It’s disturbing to know that in this day in age in our supposedly open and tolerant society, there can still legally be discrimination against individuals. Because of their race, creed, gender, or sexual preference people are still being discriminated.

Not long ago there was proposition 8 in California. This proposition was about discrimination, which pointed to same sex marriages. Proposition 8 passed, this means there will be discrimination against same sex marriages. Marriage should be a legal right for everyone, because marriage is the ultimate way that a couple can publicly express their love and commitment to each other in life.

Many couples were married before the voting of the proposition, knowing that this proposition would pass. Unfortunately, it’s very sad for our society to be so closed minded and intolerant. Gay couples should be covered under the same laws as everyone else.

Another blatant act of discrimination is that homosexuals are not accepted in the military if they declare they’re gay. What’s wrong with this picture? A good soldier is a good soldier. A good nurse is a good nurse. What’s the problem? Being gay is also a male or female. They can work the same jobs and be successful.

The problem is that there are too many people who still believe in bigotry. However, believe it or not there aren’t as many bigots around as there use to be. It’s time that people with narrow vision come to the realization that homosexuality is a natural order of life, and it’s been around since there have been people, it’s not going to go away.
