Does Smoking Cause Weight Gain?

Too many smokers continue smoking because they believe they’ll gain weight if they quit. But what if smoking was instead a factor in weight gain - but over time? “How can this be?” you ask. Let me explain…

The reason this is the case is simple. Your liver is your primary fat burning organ and your primary detoxification organ. This one organ handles both of these important jobs in the body. Actually, your liver has over one thousand different jobs in the body, but fat burning and daily detoxification are two of its most important roles.

It's no secret that smoking pollutes the body with literally hundreds of different chemicals per cigarette. And when you have lifestyle habits that pollute the body in such a manner, your liver (which is like the air filter on your car, but it filters toxins from your blood) becomes overworked from having to detoxify so many chemicals.

In addition to being just generally overwhelmed, your liver will eventually become clogged with toxins. This happens because if your liver can't render a toxin or chemical harmless for you, it'll store it for you. Your liver does this to keep those toxins out of your bloodstream - in an effort to keep the poisons from inflicting immediate harm. It's an act of kindness your liver will do for you, but if it continues regularly, that favor will cause many problems with the passage of time.

With the habit of smoking, toxins will continually build in your liver - and all throughout your body. With time, your liver will begin to struggle just to do its daily work - which includes fat burning and detoxification. Actually, if you wanted to find a way to hamper your liver’s ability to burn fat, building excessive toxicity in your liver and body through smoking would be an excellent way to do it. But that’s a far cry from what most people want. It’s actually the opposite of what they want.

Leaving cigarettes alone is a smart way to instantly reduce your incoming load of toxins and give your liver a break. You can also do deep body cleansing, with liver cleansing, to permanently remove a great deal of the toxicity that smokers and even ex-smokers have trapped in their bodies. Although it’s unfortunate, most toxicity in the body will stay put until some deep cleansing is done. Even habits from years ago, if left unaddressed, can still cause problems today. And there's only so much accumulated toxicity a body can withstand before it begins showing symptoms. Did you know that gaining weight is a symptom of an unhealthy liver? Health problems are too.

It’s well known that health problems are common - and often more serious - in smokers. Do you know why? The pollution of the body with so many chemicals is certainly a large part of the reason.

The second part though is that by regularly overworking our livers and making them storage facilities for harmful toxins, it’s slowly but surely thwarting your liver’s ability to detoxify your body - in general. And when our livers can’t detoxify all of the unnatural incoming chemicals from smoking, processed foods, non-organic foods, lotions, cleaning supplies, and cosmetics, these toxins will start to build in a manner unprecedented in your body. You’ll undoubtedly start to see problems.

If you haven't quit yet, cleansing your body internally can also help you quit smoking. This is because it’s the chemicals from cigarettes - trapped in your body - that cause cigarette cravings. You didn’t have any cravings before you began smoking, did you? Of course not. So, by removing these craving causing chemicals from your body, you can eliminate your cravings - rather easily. I think you’ll find that both giving up cigarettes and cleaning out your body are two of best things you can ever do for yourself. Plus, you might well lose some excess weight in the process.
