The pioneer of affordable ultra-portable laptops has come up with a new model to rival the various copycat models in the market. The Asus Eee PC 1000HA is the latest model in the ASUS budget laptop line up. One of the most obvious improvements can be seen in its design. It has a sleek and more modern look compared to its predecessor the Eee PC 1000H. It has more rounded corners and has a glossy finish to its outer casing.
The Eee PC 1000HA has a rugged build, with a sturdy exterior to withstand the rigors of everyday use. However, its glossy exterior seems vulnerable to fingerprints and scratches. With a price reduction of $50 (compared to its predecessor, the Asus Eee 1000H), the new model has omitted the draft-N wireless and Bluetooth function, which is seldom used anyway. It comes with a 1.3 mp camera, runs of Windows XP Home and is wi-fi ready. It is preloaded with a 160GB hard drive and have 1GB of RAM. Compared to other netbooks, the Asus Eee PC 1000HA netbook is most customizable where it is extremely upgrade friendly. The back panel can easily be removed to access the card slots.
It has a very good LCD screen displaying vibrant colors and high contrasts. It can be viewed from very wide angles but at just 1024 x 600, the Asus Eee PC 1000HA could have a higher resolution. The battery life packs an impressive 4.5 hours of regular use, and up to 7 hours when left idle. One of the Asus Eee PC 1000HA’s main competitors is Acer’s Aspire One. Would Asus be able to match up to Acer’s model?
