Tips for Spicing Up Your Love Life

There is no doubt that what happens in the bedroom is an important part of any relationship or marriage, but what happens when our love life starts to become cumbersome and boring? I can tell you from personal experience that my relationship suffers with my other half. We tend to get more tense and jumpy. There is no doubt that marriages and relationships fail due to boring sex lives and this is why it is so important that we try and spice up our love life in any way that we can.

Some people just tend to get stuck in a rut and do the same routine over and over again. This is the perfect recipe for failure. Sometimes it helps to look to others for insight on how to spice up a love life. That being said, here are a few tips that may help.

1. Do you tend to make love in the same place all the time? If this describes you, it’s time to mix it up. I seem to have some fun memories that took place on our washing machine during the spin cycle.

2. One tip that has always added spice to my love life is this – blindfold your lover (maybe even tether his/her hands to the bed post) and slowly caress their entire body with a clean feather duster.

3. Organize an evening picnic. Set out a blanket and bring the snacks you prepared (chocolates, strawberries, wine, champagne or whatever you like). Now, just lay down on the blanket and gaze up at the stars.

4. Not the Creative type? That’s OK. Michael Webb has written several excellent books that will get you on the right track in no time.

5. Try making your own board game. Again, if you are not the creative type, there are really good sources that help in this arena. Michael Webb has a good book for this too.

6. Guys – buy a dozen roses and give one to your lover. Take the petals off the remaining 11 and spread them on the bed or under the covers (another tip – OR SOMEWHERE TOTALLY NEW). Don’t forget the candles.

Do you recall that old adage that says “variety is the spice of life”? Well, it’s the same with our relationships. Variety is also the spice of our love life. The only way to keep our love life fun is to make sure you don’t become monotonous.
